SRMUN Atlanta 2026

The Auburn MUN competition team will compete at the Southern Regional Model United Nations (SRMUN) Atlanta conference on November 19-21, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Atlanta. If you are an Auburn student, an Auburn MUN club member, and have paid your annual dues, you are eligible to compete. If you're interested, reach out to either Dr. Clary or President Cal Floyd by the middle of September.

At SRMUN Atlanta 2026, Auburn's team will represent the delegations of Italy and Pakistan. 

Italy has double delegations on the GA Plenary, GA Third, the European Council (EUCO), UNHCR Executive Committee, and the Commission on Crime Prevention & Justice (CCPCJ) and a single delegate on the International Criminal Court (ICC). 

Pakistan has double delegations on the GA Plenary, GA Third, UNHCR Executive Committee, and the CCPCJ, and a single delegate on the UN Security Council (UNSC). 

Committee Details, Topics, and Background Guides

Each Auburn delegate is responsible for producing part or all of a position paper for their assigned committees. These position papers must follow SRMUN's formatting guidelines and have substance and clarity regarding your assigned nation's position on each topic, cite relevant sources to support those positions, and provide for at least one well-developed clear idea for how each topic is best addressed for your assigned nation's perspective. Failure to submit a position paper on time to President Cal Floyd and Dr. Clary, plagiarizing, or using Generative AI to develop your any/all of your position paper are grounds for dismissal from the team and may require the responsible delegate to reimburse the team for delegate fees ($100/delegate) incurred on their behalf. 

SRMUN Position Paper Guidelines and Guidance

Additionally, students competing should plan to leave campus on Thursday (November 19th) and be gone all-day and not return to Auburn's campus until Saturday (November 21st) evening. Failure to fulfill this obligation are grounds for dismissal from the team and may require the responsible delegate to reimburse the team for delegate fees ($100/delegate) incurred on their behalf. Student absences from classes on November 19th and 20th will be excused and an official excusal note from Dr. Clary will be provided prior to the conference.
